Cole Albert Porter (June 9, 1891 – October 15, 1964) was an American composer and songwriter. Many of his songs became standards noted for their witty, urbane lyrics, and many of his scores found success on Broadway and in film.

Cole Porter’s contribution and impact on American Music was so significant that a complete list of Porter's works and compositions remain chronicled and preserved by the United States Library of Congress.

“The Life Story of Cole Porter” was originally produced by Wink Martindale during his days at Gene Autry's KMPC in Los Angeles.
