Doris Day was an American actress, singer, and animal rights activist. She began her career as a big band singer in 1939, achieving commercial success in 1945 with two No. 1 recordings, "Sentimental Journey" and "My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time" with Les Brown & His Band of Renown.

Doris was one of the biggest Hollywood film stars of the 1950s–1960s. Day's film career began during the classical-era with the film Romance on the High Seas (1948). She starred in films of many genres, including musicals, comedies, dramas, and thrillers. Known for her sweet singing voice and wholesome image, singer and actor Doris Day became a Hollywood icon in the '50s and '60sm and starred in her own television sitcom The Doris Day Show from 1968 to 1973.

Some of her most popular songs include Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que sera, sera), Tea for Two, a Guy is a Guy, and Dream A Little Dream of Me.

Her career in Music, Radio, Televison and Film earned her a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and the Presidential Medal of Freedom amongst many others.
