IVOX RADIO Presents ● The Story & Music of Deep Purple MK I-IV
Deep Purple are considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock. Originally formed as a psychedelic rock and progressive rock band, they shifted to a heavier sound with their 1970 album Deep Purple in Rock, have since had several line-up changes over the years.
The BBC stated Deep Purple “made up the ‘unholy trinity’ of British hard rock and heavy metal during the genre's 1970s golden age,” together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. They have sold over 100 million albums worldwide and were officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 8, 2016.
